We often wait for a spark of excitement (motivation) to get started. Real wellness relies on momentum—the small, unglamorous push to just start moving.
"Action is not just the effect of motivation; it is also the cause of it."
The Insight: You don't exercise because you feel good; you exercise to feel good. The feeling comes after the action, not before.
The Tactic: The 5-Minute Rule. Tell yourself you only have to do the healthy activity (meditating, walking, prepping veggies) for 5 minutes. Usually, once you start, the friction disappears and you keep going.
